Grilled Salmon/Shrimp with Smoky Lemon Rub

  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ancho chili pepper
  • 1 tablespoon finely grated lemon zest
  • ½ teaspoon Aleppo pepper
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 to 6 salmon fillets, skin-on, about 6 – 8 ounces each OR 1 pound peeled, deveined raw shrimp

Mix rub ingredients in a small bowl. Rub/coat salmon or shrimp with olive oil. Coat both sides of salmon/shrimp with rub. Over medium-high heat, grill salmon, skin side down, until done and flakes, about 10 minutes maximum per inch of thickness. Shrimp will take only 3-4 minutes total; turn once if desired.
