INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (November 23, 2014) — ‘Tis the season for all things pumpkin-flavored! Thanksgiving is Thursday, so it’s time to start preparing for the big meal. Many are excited for the traditional turkey and sides, but the New York Times is switching things up this year. They scoured all fifty states and Puerto Rico in search of Thanksgiving dishes with a twist.
“What we’re hoping this package can do is to bring a new side dish or a new turkey preparation, or a new dessert, into your life. It may be from a state that you care about, it may remind you of a state that you care about” says Sam Sifton, founding editor of NYT Cooking.
And what was the top dessert for Indiana? Persimmon Pudding.
