1 killed in shooting on Indy’s near northeast side

INDIANAPOLIS — A person was shot and killed Monday on the near northeast side of Indianapolis, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

Around 9:30 p.m., police were called to the 2400 block of East 35th Street.

Officers arrived to find a person with at least one gunshot wound.

The person — later identified as 52-year-old Juan Rodriguez — was pronounced dead.

An investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
