INDIANAPOLIS — A person is recovering after being shot on I-465 southbound Sunday.
Indiana State Police detectives responded to reports of a person shot around 4:15 p.m. on I-465 southbound near Brookville Road Sunday afternoon.
The victim, a 19-year-old man, had been driving a white Kia when the shooting occurred. He sustained non-life-threatening injuries, according to ISP. After the victim was shot, another occupant got into the driver’s seat to travel to a nearby hospital.
First responders were able to locate the Kia before it reached a hospital and the victim was brought to an area hospital by ambulance instead.
ISP said the driver of the Kia was merging onto I-465 when they were confronted by another vehicle that fired several shots after appearing to swerve toward the Kia.
No other injuries were reported in the incident.
