SCOTT COUNTY (April 15, 2015) – State health officials say Scott County’s HIV outbreak includes 106 cases.
In an update Tuesday, the Indiana State Department of Health said 95 of those cases were confirmed with another 11 suspected as of Friday.
In addition, forty-three people have used the county’s needle exchange, which was created by Gov. Mike Pence’s emergency order. The exchange has given out more than 1,500 needles and in exchange for 580.
The program is available only to Scott County residents. It is anonymous.
