INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Twelve people suffered minor injuries when an IndyGo bus collided with another vehicle on the city’s northeast side Monday night.
Police were called to the crash near the intersection of East 38th Street and North Shadeland Avenue around 10:05 p.m.
Police say the driver of the truck, Gerri Berkowitz, ran a red light and struck the bus.
She was suspected of being intoxicated, and refused a chemical test. Officers secured a search warrant for her car and to test her blood. She registered at a 0.093 blood-alcohol content.
Marijuana and paraphernalia was found in her truck and in her pocket, police said. She was arrested for drug possession and operating a vehicle while intoxicated. She reportedly had a prior OWI arrest.
The bus also struck a third vehicle, but it suffered very minor damage.
No significant injuries were reported.
