ANDERSON, Ind. (Nov. 19, 2015) — A central Indiana prosecutor says a 12-year-old girl who was allegedly run over by a lawnmower three weeks ago has died.
Madison County Prosecutor Rodney Cummings tells The Anderson Herald Bulletin the girl died Thursday at an Indianapolis hospital after being removed from life support. The court order removing her from life support was signed Wednesday by Madison Circuit Judge George Pancol.
The girl’s legal guardian, 45-year-old Denell Roberts was arrested last month on a felony charge of neglect of a dependent resulting in serious bodily injury. She is free after posting a $20,000 bond. A trial date of April 5 has been set.
A message seeking comment from her attorney was left at his office Thursday evening by The Associated Press.
