KOKOMO, Ind. — A fire early Christmas Eve morning tore through a home in Kokomo early Sunday morning, killing two children and sending five more to the hospital.
Just before 3:45 a.m., authorities were dispatched to the 900 block of N. Morrison St. on the report of a residence fire.
Upon arrival, emergency personnel found a two-story; single family dwelling, engulfed in flames and subjects possibly trapped inside the dwelling.
The two children were found dead in the home. Their ages have not been released yet.
Authorities said a firefighter was also sent to the hospital, they were later released. Two adults and three juveniles escaped the fire.
The cause of the fire is still undetermined.
The fire happened near the intersection of Morrison and Haven.

Cockrell tells us the investigation is “very preliminary right now.”
The case is currently under investigation by the Kokomo Police Department Investigators, the Kokomo Fire Department, and the Howard County Coroner’s Office.
