UPDATE (June 21, 2021): IMPD said Stephen Spears was arrested and charged with Reckless Homicide on Thursday, June 17.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — A three-car accident on Indy’s north side claimed one person’s life.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the accident occurred near 8 p.m. at the intersection of 38th and Delaware streets where three cars violently collided.

Police on scene confirmed one person died in the accident. On May 19, the victim was identified as 35-year-old Babatunde Elegbede.

No other details about the three car crash were available at this time as accident investigators continue to pore over the scene and collect further evidence and statements.
