Earlier: The ramp of northbound Interstate 465 is closed on the city’s east side Wednesday afternoon after a semi-tractor trailer overturned, spilling about 35,000 pounds of ice cream.
Emergency crews responded to the crash near the E. Washington Street exit and the I-70 exit at approximately 2:26 p.m.
Authorities said the driver lost control of the semi on the exit ramp. The driver sustained minor injuries.
The ramp is expected to reopen before 4:30 p.m.
Fox59 was told the ice cream was Kroger Deluxe brand and an assortment of flavors.
