EASTPOINTE, Mich. – A robber in Michigan picked the wrong target.

Police in Eastpointe, Mich., said a 91-year-old man shot a suspect who tried to rob him in the parking lot of a Rite Aid pharmacy Monday morning.

According to WJBK, the 91-year-old man had pulled into the pharmacy’s parking lot around 10:15 a.m. Monday when he got out of his car and felt uneasy about the man who approached him. The suspect was acting erratically, even as the victim tried to walk away.

The 91-year-old warned the suspect that he had a concealed pistol license, but that didn’t deter him. The suspect then pulled out an “unknown object” and pointed it at the man, who drew his gun and fired at the suspect, hitting him in the neck.

The suspect ran off despite his wound; police later captured him and took him to a local hospital for treatment. The shooting remains under investigation.
