An alleged drunk driver was finally arrested, after being chased tased and shot at, just to bring him in.

It happened just after midnight, Saturday. After trying to stop the vehicle, a state trooper and a Montgomery County deputy had to chase the  driver down state road 47 , a mile north of Darlington.

It was a short pursuit though and the driver, Craig Cook, did pull over but ignored officers’ commands to exit the vehicle. When Cook  finally did get out of the truck, he continued to be uncooperative. And when he reached for a weapon in his waistband, the officers reacted quickly.

At the same time, the deputy tased Cook and the trooper fired his weapon. Hit by the taser,  Cook fell to the ground and was taken into custody.

He wasn’t shot, but was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Cook faces resisting law enforcement with a deadly weapon — a class D felony — among other charges.
