NEW ALBANY, Ind. — Police canceled a statewide Amber Alert for a teen girl missing from New Albany.
The Amber Alert for the 17-year-old girl was canceled less than an hour after it was issued.
According to the New Albany police chief, the alert was issued based on information received by a third party which led law enforcement to believe the girl was in danger.
Police say the girl returned home safe and unharmed on her own accord.
The incident is currently under investigation. Police say at this point in time there is no risk to public safety and nobody has been charged with a crime.
