American Airlines flight to Indianapolis diverted after passenger’s e-cigarette malfunctions

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.– Officials say American Airlines flight 1129 from Dallas to Indianapolis was diverted to Little Rock, Arkansas after a passenger’s electronic cigarette malfunctioned.

The incident occurred around 1:40 p.m. The plane, an MD-80, landed safely and taxied to the gate at Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport.

No injuries were reported. A replacement aircraft was sent to the airport to get the passengers to Indianapolis.

American Airlines says the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has been notified.
