INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (February 25, 2014) – Officers arrested a man after five armed robberies on the city’s east side Tuesday morning.

At around 5:25 a.m. in the 5900 block of Greenfield Avenue, a white male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black hat approached a man at his car.

Jeremy Kiser, 27, is facing two charges of robbery – one class “A” felony and one class “B” felony charge.

The suspect held a gun to the victim’s head and stole his money and drove away in a dark SUV.

Over the course of the next half hour, a suspect matching the description approached two separate victims on Fletcher Avenue, another on Atherton South Drive, and another on Terrace Avenue. In each incident, the suspect attacked the victim as they were walking to their car in the street or driveway, stole money and hit them with his gun.

Around 7:15 a.m., police caught a suspect in the area of Sloan and Minnesota in front of Lighthouse Charter School as children were arriving for the school day.

There were two vehicles stopped in the middle of the road as part of the investigation; a dark SUV and a red minivan. Officers took one man into custody from the SUV and spoke to a second man who was in the minivan. It was unclear what, if any, relationship the second man had with the suspect.

Robbery locations from Tuesday morning include:

  • 5900 block of Greenfield Ave.
  • 5100 block of Atherton South Dr.
  • 4300 block of Fletcher Ave.
  • 3600 block of Fletcher Ave.
  • 3600 block of East Terrace Ave.

During the last robbery on Fletcher Ave., police said a struggle ensued between the suspect and victim before the victim was shot in the foot. The victim was transported to an area hospital in good condition.
