Authorities identify boy, 12, killed in accidental shooting

MODOC – Authorities have identified a 12-year-old boy killed in an accidental shooting in Randolph County over the weekend.

The Randolph County Sheriff’s Department said Kyle Fisher II died after a gun discharged Saturday night, shooting him in the chest. Mitchell Gilliland, 36, said he was putting a rifle in a gun cabinet when it went off.

Emergency crews performed CPR on the victim, who was taken to a Winchester hospital. He died from his injuries.

Police ruled the shooting accidental.
