Authorities raid Empire Auto Group on south side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Authorities raided a used car lot on the south side of Indianapolis Wednesday morning.

The lot is owned by Empire Auto Group and located at 3002 Madison Avenue.

Investigators were seen carrying boxes out of the business.

Officials have not said why they raided the lot, but they’ve told us it is a grand jury case.

We will continue to update information about the raid as soon as it’s made available.

In August of this year, federal charges were filed against four people in connection with a September 2015 raid at used car dealership Elite Motors in Indianapolis.

Mohamed Noshi Mahmoud, 39, of Fishers, Mahdi Kehlifi, 23, of Indianapolis, Issa Kayyali, 28, of Indianapolis, and Hamza Dridi, 26, of Indianapolis, face a variety of charges under the RICO statute including conspiracy to commit mail fraud, conspiracy to commit wire fraud, money laundering, and interstate transportation of stolen property.
