INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Dec. 29, 2015) – The parent company of Bagger Dave’s Burger Tavern restaurants closed seven locations across Indiana Sunday, saying the restaurants were underperforming.

Michigan-based Diversified Restaurant Holdings, Inc. opened the restaurants between 2012 and 2015 in several cities, including Fishers, Avon and Indianapolis. The company also closed an eighth Bagger Dave’s location in Detroit, Mich.

A Bagger Dave’s restaurant in Fort Wayne remains open, according to the company’s website.

“DRH is committed to taking all appropriate and necessary actions to enhance value for all shareholders,” said Michael Ansley, chairman, president and CEO of Diversified Restaurant Holdings. “We have therefore chosen to optimize our portfolio and improve overall profitability by closing eight underperforming Bagger Dave Restaurants.”

Ansley said the move will allow the company to focus its attention on more profitable restaurants.

“Currently, five Bagger Dave’s are operating under the new and improved prototype and we are very encouraged with the initial performance,” Ansley said. “As we gain experience with the brand, we have confidence that we have made the necessary improvements to drive future success of the concept.”

In addition to Bagger Dave’s, Diversified Restaurant Holdings also operates 62 Buffalo Wild Wings locations in Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Missouri and Florida.
