Bankruptcy judge approves Hostess plan to sell assets

A bankruptcy judge approved Hostess’ plans to sell the last of its cake and bread brands to McKee Foods for more than $27 million Tuesday.

McKee Foods already makes Little Debbie snack cakes.

Hostess will also sell some bread brands, four bakeries and 14 depots to a subsidiary of United States Bakery for $30.9 million.

Hundreds of workers in Indiana lost their jobs when hostess decided to file of bankruptcy and sell off their brands.
