BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. (April 2, 2016) — Bartholomew County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a fatal crash on northbound Interstate 65 at the 58 mile marker near Jonesville.

The crash, involving two vehicles, was reported at 5:43 p.m. Saturday.  Witnesses reported a southbound pickup drove through the grass median and struck a northbound vehicle.

The pickup’s driver, 49-year-old William Floyd of Indianapolis was dead at the scene.  It is not known what caused Floyd to drive off the roadway.

The other vehicle was driven by 49-yer-old Douglas Robinson, also of Indianapolis.

Robinson told investigators he was unable to avoid a collision with the pickup,  striking it head-on.

Robinson and passenger 41-year-old Heather Pickey of Indianapolis were both taken to Columbus Regional Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
