Beech Grove officials to hold meeting Thursday to address recent crime

BEECH GROVE, Ind. (June 18, 2015) - Beech Grove Mayor Dennis Buckley and the City Council will meet Thursday night to discuss crime in the last two weeks that put the city in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons.

Last week, a man was involved in a police standoff at the Beech Grove Motel 6.

Also last week, police shot and killed a man with a gun outside a home.

Walmart in Beech Grove made headlines in recent weeks as well.

In one incident, a man accused of stealing from Walmart led police on a chase that ended in a fatal crash.

Also, the fight inside the Walmart between two women in front of a child was caught on cell phone camera and went viral.

Both women were arrested.

One was charged with disorderly conduct; the other was charged with neglect of a dependent, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and disorderly conduct.

The meeting at Beech Grove City Hall is at 7 p.m. Thursday.
