(Oct. 23, 2014) – Forget that trip to the liquor store—a company plans to bring alcohol straight to your door.
A company called Drizly has partnered with Big Red Liquors to make the service available in the Indianapolis area, including Broad Ripple, Brownsburg, Downtown, Fishers, Fletcher Place, Fountain Square, Geist, Irvington and Meridian-Kessler neighborhoods.
The service is already available in seven other major metropolitan areas: Austin, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, New York and Washington, DC.
Shoppers have to download the Drizly app (available on Apple and Android devices or the Drizly website), make their selection and then pay. The delivery will arrive in about 40 minutes, the company said.
Delivery drivers will check ID. If the customer isn’t of age or appears inebriated, the purchase won’t be completed.
