Bicyclist struck, killed on city’s northwest side

INDIANAPOLIS — A male bicyclist was struck and killed late Sunday night on the city’s northwest side, according to IMPD.

Investigators say about ten minutes before midnight, the bicyclist was heading west in the 5000 block of W. 62nd St. near Georgetown Rd. when he was struck from behind by a vehicle.

The bicyclist was later identified as 34-year-old Lamarr Thornton.

Police say the bike didn’t have hazards, reflective lights, or tail lights. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators.
