BOONE COUNTY (Feb. 21, 2014) – Drivers should watch out for black ice as they hit the road Friday.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Office sent out an advisory telling drivers that black ice was on roads in the county.

U.S. 421 was closed for a short time because of a series of crashes between 100 S and 200 S. It has since reopened.

SR 32 at 400 West and SR 32 at 300 East were also covered with ice, authorities said. Drivers should avoid the areas if possible and take it slow while heading to school or work.
