HYMERA, Ind. (Dec. 9, 2015) – Things got out of hand at a recent town board meeting in southwest Indiana.
Indiana State Police were called Tuesday night to the Hymera Town Board meeting after a fight erupted over the town’s marshal position, reports WTHI.
The board passed a motion giving the job to Daryl McCullough, a decision that angered Darrik Cullison, the man McCullough would replace. Video obtained by WTHI showed Cullison and McCullough exchanging blows.
Following the scuffle, Cullison set an email to a WTHI reporter that simply read “I’m sorry.” Cullison maintains he was wrongly fired from his position and has taken legal action against the board.
No arrests were made in connection with the incident, but the case has been turned over to the Indiana State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation. Investigators will work with the Sullivan County Prosecutor’s Office.
The meeting was the board’s last one of the year. A board with new members was expected to take office for 2016.
