INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Divers with the Indianapolis Fire Department continued their search for a body in the White River Sunday.

Unfortunately, conditions were not optimal, so the search was terminated early. Fire officials say the water level was too high as crews conducted “foot, bank and top water searches.”

Authorities learned about the possible body in the river around 9:21 p.m. Saturday. Soon after, water rescue crews put boats in the water and began searching.

IFD says it’s focusing on the area from Washington Street South to Rock Dam near Steam Plant.

Crews are expected to continue their search Monday.
