Both lanes of Campus Parkway have reopened. Police have located the owner of the bag and have determined that there was no criminal intent. The bag contained no dangerous materials, according to Tom Weger of the Fishers Police Department. Roads are being reopened, and Weger said all traffic should be flowing in the next 20 minutes.

Weger said the situation is a perfect example of Hoosiers taking “see something, say something” to heart.

A bridge over I-69 has been shut down due to a suspicious package, dispatchers say.

According to the Fishers Police Department, the suspicious package was found on the bridge over I-69 near the 210 mile marker. All lanes over the bridge are closed. It’s in the area of Southeastern and Campus parkways/146th Street. Northbound I-69 is closed at 116th Street and southbound I-69 is closed at State Road 13.

Fishers police said there was something placed underneath the bridge, necessitating the alert. According to Tom Weger of Fishers police, a camouflage backpack was discovered. Police don’t know what’s inside and are waiting for explosives specialists to arrive. Weger said drivers should avoid the area.

This is a developing story.
