Brownburg police are asking for the public’s help in bringing a family closure in the death of 26-year-old Nikki Lanpher.

Lanpher’s body was found in a field along Raceway Road on July 25. She was last seen on July 19.

Brownburg police said Tuesday that Lanpher had been struck by a vehicle while walking south in the 2700 Block of Raceway Road at approximately 11:30 p.m. on the 19.

Police are asking if anyone has any information to come forward.

Officers say the person who struck Lanpher may not have even realized they hit a person.

“There aren’t very many street lights out, so there’s a possibility that the person that struck her had no idea that they did, they could have thought that they hit an animal. We just want to bring closure for the family and we wanna end the investigation and find out exactly what happened,” said Sgt. April Hyde with the Brownsburg Police Department.

Sgt. Hyde say Lanpher was walking home at the time. Her body was found 10 feet off the road.

Evidence from the vehicle was recovered from the scene, but police are hoping the public can bring Lanpher’s family closure.

If you know anything about what happened, call the Brownsburg Police Department or Crime Stoppers at (317) 262-TIPS.
