(September 6, 2015) – A college student in California has his iPhone to thank for stopping a bullet.

Police say an armed man followed the student home, and fired a shot when he tried to rob student near the Fresno State campus.

The bullet ricocheted off the student’s iPhone, stopping it from going through his leg.

“He had a ski mask on. He approached the victim as he was walking from the rear. He grabbed his computer- tried to pull it away from the victim. Victim held onto it- wouldn’t let him take it, and the next thing you know the suspect had a gun,” an officer told KSEE24 News.

The student who dodged the bullet left town and says he’s never coming back.
