FERDINAND (April 11, 2014) – A cabinet manufacturer will expand in Dubois County, creating up to 260 new jobs over the next two years.

Lt. Gov. Sue Ellspermann joined officials from Ferdinand, Ind., and MasterBrand Cabinets, Inc., Friday to announce the company’s plans to expand its operations.

The company, headquartered in Jasper, Ind., will invest $8 million in equipment to add additional capacity and expand its product offering. The company has a 500,000 square-foot facility at 624 W. 3rd St. in Ferdinand. MasterBrand Cabinets employs more than 3,500 people in six Indiana facilities. The Ferdinand plant currently has 1,500 workers. The company will begin hiring cabinet assemblers, component pullers, shipping helpers, supervision and quality positions later this year.

Friday’s announcement marked the second Indiana expansion for the cabinet manufacturer in about a year. In March 2013, the company announced plans to add 76 new positions in Goshen. As of March 2014, the company has added more than 109 jobs there.

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered MasterBrand up to $1.25 million in conditional tax credits and up to $100,000 in training grants. The city of Ferdinand approved additional tax abatement.
