(May 27, 2014) – Hitting a home run feels great for any baseball player.
It’s even sweeter when your father nabs the souvenir.
Conrad Gregor—a 22-year-old Houston Astros prospect from Carmel who plays for the Quad City River Bandits—went deep Saturday night. The three-run shot was memorable enough—and then Gregor found out his father Marty caught the home run ball. It was his first home run of the season.
Conrad told MLB.com he didn’t initially realize what happened. When he saw his dad, he said it was a “pretty cool moment.”
His parents drove nearly five hours from Carmel to attend the game. Conrad was drafted in the fourth round last year.
