MISSOULA, Mont. — Attention men: the bar has been raised for the most well-thought-out marriage proposal in history.

On Sept. 30, 2010, University of Montana students Jack Hyer and Rebecca Strellnauer went on their first date.

The date went so well that Hyer knew he wanted to marry Strellnauer eventually.

Throughout the next four years, Hyer traveled to 26 counties, and, in the process, he put together a video of himself lip-syncing The Proclaimers’ “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” from all over the world.

The couple graduated from the University of Montana last Saturday.

Hyer tricked Strellnauer into thinking they were going to watch his “graduation slideshow,” at which time he showed her the epic video.

“I’ve been on many adventures. I’ve traveled on elephant, on camelback, hiked to the lowest point on the earth and I’ve gotten to see some of the highest,” he said after the video finished. “But the best adventure I’ve had is loving Becca.”

He then proposed to Strellnauer.

As you can imagine, she said yes!
