Children’s 911 hang-up call leads to meth bust

A 911 hang-up led to a methamphetamine bust, Peru Police announced Monday.

Miami County Central Dispatch sent a group of officers to a home after receiving a phone call.

When officers arrived, the residents told them children inside the home placed the 911 call and then hung up.

Officers said they smelled burnt marijuana, leading them to search the home. Inside, they found mairjuana, methamphetamine, chemical precursors, hpodermic needles and other drug paraphernalia, police said.

Three boys – ages 9, 7 and 2 – were also inside the home at the time.

Police placed April Vermilya, Samantha Ray and Jeremy Goshert under arrest. They face several charges including conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine, neglect and possession of paraphernalia.
