Columbus man accused of strangling, battering, confining woman in shed

COLUMBUS, Ind. – A Columbus man has been charged with strangulation, confinement and battery after allegedly assaulting a woman.

Police were called to the reported assault at a shed in the 2400 block of Indiana Avenue around noon on Saturday.

When officers arrived, they heard the sounds of a fight and screams from a female. They rushed to the backyard, where they say they found the suspect, Joshua D. Streeval, 26, and the female victim with red marks on her neck and face, inside the shed.

Officers say Joshua D. Streeval, 26, was taken into custody and preliminarily charged with strangulation and criminal confinement, both Level 6 felonies, as well as battery with bodily injury as a Class A misdemeanor.
