INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Sept. 16, 2015)– Passport to Employment is nothing like your average job placement service.
Two days a week, volunteers from central Indiana’s most successful companies are reaching out and helping people in transition. Mondays it’s the basics: advanced job search skills, re-branding yourself, crisis and financial counseling or just adding the right buzz words to a resume.
Tuesdays, Passport to Employment takes it to another level: networking and workshops with employment agencies, recruitment firms and top management from companies. All of this support then comes with a unique accountability system. As Passport to Employment’s success grows, more and more companies and agencies are getting on board.
Passport to Employment started eight years ago by Earle Hart. Earle helped a few friends find jobs and start over. That’s when Earle realized his retirement is going to look a lot different than he expected, using his unique skill to help put people back to work.
“I said to my wife, ‘Isn’t it a shame that somebody doesn’t help the unemployed?’ She looked across the table at me and said to me, ‘So what are you doing the rest of your life?'” said Hart.
That challenge is now translating into a growing community of people lifting each other up in other ways too. They’ve saved three families from foreclosure, provided emergency health insurance for people in between jobs, and they’re giving tangible hope to countless people during one of life’s most challenging times. Two thousand people and new jobs later, Earle and his team are getting amazing results!
