Coroner identifies man killed in shooting on near northeast side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (December 17, 2015) – A man was shot and killed late Wednesday night on the city’s near northeast side.

Police were dispatched to a home in the 3400 block of Ralston Avenue just after midnight on reports of a person shot. When officials arrived on scene they found an adult male, later identified as Rodney Brown, 33, of Indianapolis, on the front porch of the home with an apparent gunshot wound to the head.

Brown was transported to Eskenazi in critical condition, but shortly after arrival the victim was pronounced deceased.

Homicide detectives are looking for witnesses and gathering information. Police have no suspects at this time.
