HENDRICKS COUNTY – A man who was accused of sexually assaulting two women appeared in court Tuesday afternoon.

Court documents revealed Michael Parrish faces several charges, including kidnapping, rape, and criminal deviate conduct.

On February 6th, Avon detectives said two women and a toddler were kidnapped from the Walmart parking lot and forced to go in the victim’s car to the parking lot of an apartment complex nearby.

In the parking lot of the apartment complex, authorities said Parrish used a handgun to threaten the women to do what he wanted, which included graphic sexual demands. According to the probable cause affidavit, Parrish threatened the lives of the women and the toddler.

Then, the women were forced to go to the home of one of the victim’s. Her home is in Marion County. It was there, police said, the women were repeatedly sexually assaulted and raped.

Authorities said the suspect then tied up the women and stole some belongings, including the victim’s car.

According to court records, Parrish recorded the sexual assaults on his cell phone.

“I think people should realize crimes can happen anywhere and they should always be aware of their surroundings when they’re out and about. Unfortunately, there are a lot of very bad people in this world,” Hendricks County Prosecutor Patricia Baldwin said.

Baldwin did not comment about specific details of the case.

Tuesday afternoon, a Hendricks County Judge entered a not guilty plea for Michael Parrish.

In court today, FOX 59 also learned Parrish has been linked to a Feb. robbery in the parking lot of Kohl’s in Plainfield. Parrish has been ordered not to contact the two women from Feb. 6 case and the woman that was robbed in Plainfield.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department confirmed they are looking at Parrish and whether he is linked to cases in their area.

According to the court documents FOX 59 obtained today, the handgun recovered after the two women were assaulted, was considered stolen from Indianapolis from a home invasion, burglary, robbery and sexual assault that happened on February 5th.

Authorities said Parrish was convicted of other crimes in the late 90’s, including criminal confinement in Marion County and Battery of body waste in Sullivan County.

FOX59 is choosing to limit some the details released at this time due to an ongoing investigation.
