IMPD investigate home invasion shooting on southeast side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (January 25, 2014) — IMPD are investigating an early morning shooting on the southeast side.

They say 2 men kicked in the front door of a residence on the 76oo block of Windy Hill Way just after 4:30 Saturday morning. They shot the homeowner and ransacked the home once inside.

Two children were present during the crime, ages 5 and 12. Police say they may have startled the suspects causing them to flee, leaving behind evidence taken in by IMPD.

Police say the homeowner was shot twice and is listed in stable condition at Eskanazi Health.

The suspects were wearing dark clothing at the time of the crime and fled in an unknown direction.
