INDIANAPOLIS (June 10, 2015) - Indianapolis Metropolitan police officers say they found a shooting suspect's gun on the floorboard of the victim's car after an early morning shooting Wednesday.

The victim ended up in the parking lot of a restaurant at 16th Street and Sharon Avenue, but police believe the altercation happened a few blocks away on 16th Street when the victim was approached by two men.

Investigators are not sure if it was an attempted robbery.

Somehow the shooting victim in the passenger seat ended up with the gun and the driver took off and pulled into the restaurant parking lot.

Homicide detectives were called to the area, which is standard procedure.

The suspects are believed to be in their 20s and are still on the run.
