Indianapolis man arrested in connection with two double homicides

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Sept. 19, 2014)– Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) officers arrested a man Friday accused of being involved in two double homicides that occurred in January and February.

John Means, 21, of Indianapolis, was already in custody on unrelated charges when detectives traveled to the Miami Correctional Facility to interview him. Means was served with four separate warrants.

Means is the alleged suspect in connection with two separate double homicide investigations that occurred on January 28 in the 1800 block of North Rural Street and on February 1 in the 3400 block of  North Hovey Street.

The victims on the North Rural Street homicide investigation were identified as Tyrece Dorsey and William Davis. The victims on the Hovey Street shooting were identified as Carlos Jefferson and Julius Douglas.

Means is currently being held at the Miami Correctional Facility until his initial hearing scheduled for September 26 in Marion County.
