INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (March 17, 2106)– An Indianapolis man was charged with the murder of his 8-month-old son Thursday.

Aaron Jorgensen’s son died on December 21, 2015 after the child was taken to Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health.

Court documents show Jorgensen tried to get the child to stop crying, but was unsuccessful. After the boy was moved to a couch, Jorgensen told police the child had stopped crying but had also gone limp and his lips turned blue. The child’s mother was at work at the time.

Trash, drug paraphernalia, cockroaches and dirty diapers were found in various rooms in the home.

According to court documents, the son died of blunt force trauma to the head.

Police found a text message on Jorgensen’s phone sent a few hours before the child died which read, “He is crying I can’t take it. KMN (Kill me now)”

Jorgensen is facing charges of murder, battery resulting in a death of a person less than 14, and neglect of a dependent resulting in death. He’s being held without bond at the Marion County Jail.
