Man in custody after police chase leads to crash in Avon

AVON, Ind. (April 30, 2015) – Police took a man into custody Thursday morning after a chase in Avon.

Investigators said the man stole a white Ford minivan from a gas station at Rockville Road and Avon Avenue just before 6 a.m. and took off. The resulting pursuit lasted about three miles before the van crashed and ended up in a ditch in front of Bartlett Chapel United Methodist Church near Main Street and County Road 450.

Police haven’t released any additional details about the suspect arrested in the case.
