Pedestrian in critical condition after hit-and-run accident

BEECH GROVE, Ind. – A pedestrian is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle late last night.

At around 11:10 p.m. officers were called to the scene of a serious hit-and-run accident around the intersection of S. Emerson Ave. and E. Hornet Ave. The victim is a man in his 30’s.

The man and his fiancée were driving down Emerson Ave. in a pickup truck. The man got out of his truck for some unknown reason and was then struck by another car.

Medics rushed to the scene and took the victim to IU Health-Methodist Hospital where he was listed in critical condition. Police also rushed the man’s fiancée to the hospital, and as a result they were unable to question her regarding the circumstances that led the man to exit the vehicle in the first place.

The car that hit the victim immediately left the scene. The Beech Grove Police Department is currently looking for a dark Taurus or Sable wagon with plastic over the rear pass window regarding this hit and run accident.
