Detectives investigate man shot on city’s near northeast side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (July 18, 2014) – Detectives with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department are investigating what happened to a man who was shot multiple times Friday morning on the Circle City’s near northeast side.

The shooting occurred at the corner of Holloway Avenue and Roosevelt Avenue around 2:15 a.m.

Police said witnesses have come forward, stating they heard several gunshots and went outside to see what happened.

The witnesses then found a man in his mid-40s down in the grass about 10-15 feet off the roadway and suffering from bullet wounds to his torso and arm, investigators said.

The witnesses then grabbed towels to help stop the bleeding until paramedics arrived.

The victim, who lost consciousness before the ambulance’s arrival, was transported to IU Methodist Hospital in critical condition.

Detectives did not have any suspect information to release and asked anyone with information to call immediately.
