MORGAN COUNTY, Ind. (January 31, 2016) — A police pursuit ends in a water rescue in Morgan County.

According to the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department, officers with the Moorseville police were chasing a suspected drunk driver around 4 a.m. near State Road 67 and Allison Road. Officers first tried to pull the driver over for a traffic stop, but she fled.

Police chased her into a neighborhood where she drove from a dead-end street, to a cornfield, and then over a hill plunging into a pond near Hadley Road and Linda Drive.

Officers said there was ice over the water so the driver’s car sunk slowly.  A water rescue began. The female driver was saved. Her condition is unknown at this time.
