INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (June 24, 2015)— Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department are investigating an armed robbery and two attempted robberies of CVS stores across Indianapolis Wednesday.

Police said the first store was targeted around 9 a.m. IMPD believes the suspect then targeted two other CVS stories within almost an hour of each other.

The incidents occurred at the following CVS locations:

  • 3808 East Washington (attempted robbery) 9:04 a.m.
  • 1030 North Arlington (attempted robbery) 9:43 a.m.
  • 6290 North College (confirmed armed robbery) 10:11 a.m

At the East Washington CVS, police say 18 year old Jensen Gayden passed a note to the pharmacist demanding prescriptions the pharmacy did not have, so Jensen police say fled to the second location. There, he was met with an armed security guard who told FOX59 “he walked in, saw me, and thought twice.”

At the third CVS pharmacy in Broad Ripple, Gayden police say was successful in obtaining the prescriptions he had demanded.

Police arrested Gayden at the Walgreens pharmacy at 30th and Kessler, where they say he had made another robbery attempt. Gayden was apprehended after a short foot chase and was found with a loaded gun and the same robbery note he’d used to demand narcotics earlier in the day.

Gayden is preliminarily charged with robbery, and carrying a handgun without a license. Police say additional charges are possible.
