NOBLESVILLE, Ind. – Two men armed with guns walked into a Noblesville AutoZone store and demanded money during a Monday night robbery, police say.
According to the Noblesville Police department, the robbery was reported just before 10 p.m. at the AutoZone located at 14515 Mundy Drive.
According to police, a caller told officers that two men entered the store and confronted employees. They demanded money from the store’s cash registers and safe. The employees handed over some cash, and the robbers ran out of the store.
Police set up a search perimeter but lifted it just after 10:20 p.m. when they couldn’t locate the suspects.
Witnesses described the first suspect as a black male between the ages of 18 and 25. He had a thin build and weighed about 130 pounds. In addition, he had light stubble on his upper lip and wore all black, including a hooded sweatshirt or zip-up sweatshirt. The man carried a silver handgun.
The second suspect was a Hispanic male with black hair who looked to be between the ages of 16 and 18 years old. He also had a thin build and wore a sweatshirt that was gray in the middle with reddish-orange on the outer parts. Witnesses said he wore a reddish-orange scarf over his mouth and carried a small, black handgun.
Also on Monday night, Indianapolis Metropolitan police reported a robbery at an AutoZone store located at 3863 E. Washington St. in Indianapolis around 8:30. In that case, two suspects entered the store and demanded money from the register, according to an IMPD incident report.
An employee ran out the back door and set off an alarm; a shot was fired during that robbery.
Police haven’t said if the two crimes are related.
