Police search for suspect after robbery at Anderson Village Pantry

ANDERSON, Ind.– Police are searching for a suspect after a robbery at an Anderson business Tuesday morning.

The robbery occurred around 4:15 a.m. at the Village Pantry located at 1000 West Cross Street.

Police say the male suspect entered the store and approached a store employee, who was preparing food. The suspect grabbed the employee by the neck and demanded money. The employee told police the suspect was armed with a claw hammer.

The employee was treated at the hospital and released.

The suspect fled from the store on foot with a small amount of cash from the register.

Police describe the suspect as a white male in his 20s, 6’2″ and 175 pounds. He was wearing a dark-colored long-sleeve shirt, dark pants and a black bandana that was covering part of his face. He also had sunglasses and black leather gloves.
