PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (January 23, 2015) – A retired southern Indiana principal was arrested Thursday in Florida for trying to meet a minor for sex.

Dennis D. Blake, 64, of Sellersburg, Ind., was arrested at a restaurant in the Boynton Beach Mall. According to WPEC, an undercover officer was posing as a 15-year-old boy when he was contacted by Blake over social media in October 2014.

The undercover officer and Blake chatted for several months. The juvenile’s age was brought up, and the conversations went from casual to talking about oral sex. Blake even sent explicit photos of himself.

WPEC reports that Blake wanted to meet the teen and go to his house so they could get in bed together.

Blake is charged with soliciting a child for unlawful sexual conduct, traveling to meet a minor to commit an unlawful sex act and transmission of harmful material to a minor.

According to a 2008 article by News and Tribune, Blake retired from the Greater Clark County School Corporation as principal of Thomas Jefferson Elementary School in 2005. The newspaper also says, “His career in education also included various stints as a music teacher, theater director, student counselor and principal at the now closed McCullough, the old Utica Elementary, Parkview and some time at the Charlestown Middle School.”
