INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Indianapolis Metropolitan police arrested a man and confiscated drugs and firearms during a raid on the near northeast side Thursday morning.
Around 10:45 a.m. Thursday, IMPD North District Narcotics and Vice detectives served a search warrant in the 3800 block of N. Whittier with help from North District Flex Team officers and IMPD SWAT.
SWAT officers entered the apartment and found Devan Pierson, 34, inside. A search of the apartment turned up an ounce of cocaine, four ounces of heroin and five ounces of methamphetamine, police said. In addition, police found scales and items used for mixing and cooking drugs and a pair of drug presses.
Police also confiscated a pair of firearms—one inside the apartment and a second inside Pierson’s Chevy Malibu—along with more than $480 in cash.
Pierson, on parole for dealing cocaine, was arrested for dealing and possession of cocaine, heroin and methamphetamine along with maintaining a common nuisance and being a serious violent felon in possession of a firearm.
His arrest came the morning after IMPD took five other people into custody during a SWAT operation in the 1900 block of Bellefontaine Street. In that case, police seized cocaine, marijuana, a shotgun and cash.
